Mindful Yoga and Somatic Spirituality

Mindful Yoga and Somatic Spirituality classes with Kat Allen offers students from wide-ranging backgrounds (yoga, Qigong, Buddhism and other spiritual disciplines) a truly integrative yogic experience.  To stay present, open and genuine in these trying times takes a courageous, awake and embodied spirituality, and Kat offers just that.  Utilizing wisdom from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Buddhist philosophy, energy and nature spirituality, Kat helps students anchor their Hatha Yoga practice in the body-focused spirituality found in these timeless traditions. 

On-going classes include dharma teachings that cover a range of ideas essential to spiritual practice, energy clearing and breathing practice, yoga asana, reflection and meditation.  Attention to sensations in the body, breath, how energy is moving, and what arises in the mind (thoughts-feelings-memories-images) are an important focus.  You will encounter your physical, energetic, mental-emotional and spiritual edges, as we cycle through the limbs and tools of yoga.  This all-levels class is accessible, nourishing, and suitable for everyone.  

Drop-ins welcome: $20, $75 for 4.

Teaching yoga continuously in Seattle for over 30 years, experience why Kat has fostered such devoted students!  A licensed psychotherapist who created the Four Aims Center for Mind-Body Therapy in West Seattle, a lifelong dancer, performer and yogini, Kat practices and teaches Hatha Yoga in the lineage of T. Krishnamacarya, (certified teacher and yoga therapist), and Vajrayana Buddhism under her beloved teacher, Tsoknyi Rinpoche, as well in as the Shambhala tradition.
